Nosey Rosey’s Corner: Can you really trust your smart phone?

And don’t worry…you're not the only victim - others have done the most common mistake just like you, the contract.

Have you ever had a phone, and downloaded social media? Well if you have, you’re being watched. I know, crazy right? But it’s true! When you download apps like Facebook, Messenger, Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter, you are then allowing government and other agencies to hack into your personal information. They are then able to look at your photos, calls, contacts, recent phone calls, and more. Once you find out about all of this then you begin to wonder, how did I get into this mess? Well I’ll tell you. Do you remember that very long letter that it showed you when you first downloaded the app? Well that letter was a contract. When the contract is so long, you don’t want to read it. Well you should have because when you clicked that button I agree to all terms” you just said “ I agree to let you into my personal life’’. Now I’m going to tell you the bad news. When the government knows your personal information, then they get rich. And when you say “How do they get rich?” They get rich by selling your personal information to other companies, such a Wal-Mart for example. They can buy your personal information - If you’re on snapchat and a box comes up and says, “Come buy a MP3 player at your local Wal-mart”, and you go there to buy one. That’s how the companies get their money.

Do you like Wonder Woman? Well I do. Before Diana was Wonder Woman she was a princess of the Amazons. She met an American pilot who crash-landed on their sheltered island. When he crashed there, she learned that there was a war going on. As she grew more curious, she went back with the American pilot to try to stop the war. On their trip across the sea they finally ended up in London. When they got there they had to deliver a book to someone named Sir Patrick. After that, Steve (the American pilot) got together a few people named Charlie, Sameer, and The Chief, and together they went off to the war. As soon as Diana found out, she went out to “No Man’s Land,” in the middle of the fighting, and she used her shield to protect her. When the men saw that she was taking all the fire they went out there and helped her, and they shot up the enemy. After they stopped that war, they found out that Dr. Poison was releasing a gas that could kill all humanity. Diana went to where they were releasing the gas and saw that Ares, the God of War, had started it. Steve eliminated that gas by blowing it up and Diana defeated Ares. And that’s how the danger was ended.

True Scary Stories by Aya Ayesh True Story 1:

True Scary Stories Continued So I laughed, told her to “back off” and asked what she was doing for dinner. No answer. I stuck my head out into the hall. No one there. I searched the house top to bottom and there was no one home. I sat out on the front porch until someone else got home because I didn’t want to be in there alone. True Story 2: I was babysitting my niece once while I was staying at my brother’s place, and they had the baby camera setup so I could see her on the little TV it came with. I was studying and started dozing off when I heard some whispering and realized it was coming from the monitor. I initially thought it was some feedback or something, but when I looked at the TV there was a dark shadow near my niece’s crib. I have never been more terrified in my life, but the shadow was clearly there where it had not been before. I ran to my niece’s room and looked around and saw nothing, but I took her out of there. I went back to the TV, and the shadow was clearly gone. I told my brother what happened and he pulled me aside and told me not to mention it to my sister-in-law because she’ll freak out, but that he had seen that same thing several times now, with the same whispering.

My older sister has a ghost that’s followed They stayed in that house for about four her around for years. more years and when my niece was just I lived with her once for about 3 months, learning to talk she would tell her mom and so much weird stuff happened in that about her ‘special friend.’ To this day, it time. All my sister would say to me when scares the crap out of me. When they I mentioned it was that her ghost “didn’t moved out, my brother told me my niece had become inconsolably sad because she like me being there.” would miss her ‘friend.’ Her mom would tell her she could bring him along but all Things would happen like going to bed she would say was that he couldn’t leave with everything locked up and switched the house. We have never to this day told off and waking up in the morning with the her about that shadow, and she back door open, lights on and the kettle apparently never saw it. switched on. One night my sister and I were getting ready to go out and I’d asked to borrow her liquid foundation. I used it and put it back where she kept her makeup. Ten minutes later she’s asking me for it and it was nowhere to be seen. She accused me of taking it and made me buy her a new one and refused to listen to my side of the story. About a year or so later when she was packing to move to a new house, she found the makeup in a shoebox with some old letters. The shoebox was in a zipped up suitcase that was underneath her bed. But probably the most scared I ever felt was one afternoon when I was the only one in the house (which never happened as four other people lived there). I’d arrived home from work and headed straight to the bathroom. All the doors/windows etc were closed. I was standing in the bathroom and started squeezing a pimple on my chin when a female voice in the hall said “stop picking your zits!” It was loud enough and sounded real enough and at the time I thought it was my sister. Dear Maddy: The Advice Giver By Madisen Martinez I have 3 best friends and 1 of them is always talking smack about the others. I try to tell her to stop but she always gets mad at me. Should I continue being friends with her?

Ryan is an eighth grader who likes blue and hates spiders. On a daily basis he plays with his dog. If he could be any animal, he would be a dragon. His hobbies are basketball, drawing, and shooting. Ryan’s birthday is on May 24, so make sure you tell him happy birthday!

Seraphine Joe (7th Grade) Seraphine is a seventh grader you may want to know. She has a great talent and interest in bowling, volleyball, and softball. She loves the color purple but hates snakes. When she gets home she usually watches TV. If she could be any animal in the world she would be a tiger because they are fierce and strong.

Landon Begay (6th Grade) If you ask Landon what he wants for lunch he’ll say chicken. He is in sixth grade and spends his time playing basketball. His favorite thing to do at home is…. you guessed it: play basketball!! Unfortunately, he hates wind. His favorite color is...drumroll please...red!

Well, from what I’m hearing, your so-called “friend” is not a true friend. True friends do not talk bad about one another and don’t stab them in the back. This friend sounds like a fake friend, and no one deserves to have a fake friend. If it was me I would tell your other friends what the one friend is saying. She will soon get her karma for what she has done. So, the answer to your question is “no”. You deserve great friends and true friends that will always be there for you and will never do anything to hurt you. Always remember: “FAKE FRIENDS are like shadows. They follow you in the sun but leave you in the dark.” Sincerely, Maddy M. (The Advice Giver) Recipes: How to make Pumpkin Spice Latte By Annise Meza

Ideas Needed!! Night Watcher (Scary Story) By Amethyst Peters There were two roommates that lived together. One’s name was Shania and the other was named Cynthia. One night they were getting ready to go to bed, then Shania heard screaming and crying. They searched everywhere to find the source of the noises, but there was nothing.

8th Grade Incentive Hello, I am thinking of a way to honor teachers for teacher appreciation week (I am just going to choose a random week). If you feel you have any ideas come see me in room 211.

Students had a great time eating nachos and watching movies of their choice!

Thank you so much, Mrs. Long

The next morning, Cynthia was writing in her journal. “Last night I heard someone crying. It was an eerie sound. Shania and I checked it out, but there was nothing. At breakfast, Cynthia reminded her roommate about the screaming and crying. Shania acted as though nothing had happened, which left Cynthia feeling more disturbed. Cynthia continued to hear the noises the Interested in Joining Newspaper next few nights. The same situation Club? continued to repeat. Shania would try to help Cynthia find the noises, and the next morning she would act like nothing We still have plenty of room, if you are happened. Cynthia decided to give up interested, we meet most Wednesdays and grew to accept the noises. after school from 4-5. She spent a few nights staying up until it was daytime then she would go to sleep. Then, one night she went downstairs to get a drink of water. This time, Cynthia was sleeping on the couch. She heard something in Shania’s room again, but she dared not investigate it.

Anybody is welcome! See Mrs. Long if you have any questions (Room 211).

Each night, the sounds grew louder and louder, and each morning, Shania acted as though nothing had happened. Finally, Cynthia could not take it anymore. The noises grew louder and louder, and she decided to go upstairs. She peered into Shania’s room, and she saw a dark figure, covered in scars. She started screaming for Shania desperately as the figure grew closer.

See you next time! 

All of the sudden, she saw the figure in the light. It was Shania, and she was coming right at her. She threw her glass of cold water at Shania (or whatever the being was), and it quickly turned to ashes. After the event, she tried to call the police and find Shania’s family. There was no record of Shania ever existing.

Teachers and students, please let us know of any events you want the Mustang Messengers to photograph!

Let’s just say Cynthia never lived with a roommate again.
