Area 300,000 km2  Length of coastline 3200km  Population: 3 Millions (~70% Locals)  Oil Daily Production ~850,000 bpd

Background 

Historically, Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has acted as the custodian of the E&P data for Oman.  Recent increase in exploration activity has brought to light shortcomings in this approach, e.g.: – Potential conflicts between PDO’s role as an operator vs. its role as the data custodian – Increased volume of data requests from the new Operators 

August 16

In order to preserve (and optimise the value of) the E&P data, Ministry of Oil & Gas (MOG) initiated a project to build, populate and operate a National Data Repository, independent of any operator, for and on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman, and regulated by MOG.
