Nature Play
Preschool Program 30 minutes
Nature Play Description Bring the outdoors inside with some fun nature-themed games and activities.
Materials Overhead projector or other bright light source Cardboard or heavy card paper Scissors Paper Construction paper Glue Markers or crayons Pipe cleaners precut to a variety of sizes Craft pompoms Googly eyes Fresh, fallen leaves Tissue paper Paper plates Rulers Tape A decorated box, turned on its side
Preparation Set up and test the overhead projector or spotlight you will be using for Who’s There? Collect fresh leaves on the day of, or the day before, the Leafy Creatures craft activity. Cover your craft area with newspaper or drop cloth. Cut out the butterflies for the Flappy Butterflies game. Optional: Decorate your program room or space as if it were a campground, club house or a tree house. You could use blankets on the floor or as a tent, cardboard boxes for walls, holiday lights strung on the ceiling as stars, stuffed animals as forest creatures, etc.
