SALES TIPS Specific Sales Tips: • With the holiday season coming up, your customers are actively looking for gifts specifically for this time of year. Suggest heavily these new colors. • Keep all three colors at the front Sun Station to give to your customers for part two of the demonstration. Always show a T-shirt for the first demonstration and “WOW!” but then give them products to try out for themselves – using these nail polish colors right away will also give you an opportunity to explain any other holiday sales and promotions you are running. • Wear one of these three colors throughout the months of November and December. Give customers a demonstration of how they look on your nails. Tell stories of aunts, nieces, sisters, and friends of how they reacted when they first experienced color-changing nails (the customer will instinctively want to give it to their family and friends to get the same reaction). Remember, Del Sol is all about creating fun, joy, smiles, and memories. If you can show a customer how the nail polish (or any product) will accomplish that, they’re more likely to purchase it. • These new nail polish colors still do not contain Formaldehyde, Toluene, or Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP). That all basically means they’re safe to use (but still not ok to drink). • Recommend using Del Sol’s top coat and base coat to protect and prolong the color change. Also, suggest Del Sol’s nail care set as a great gift idea and include one of the new holiday colors.
Use these specific one-liners and sales pitches: • “These never-before-seen colors were created just for this holiday season. These were literally made for you to be stocking stuffers.” • “These holiday colors make great gifts for your friends and relatives that already love Del Sol nail polish. You know they’ve never seen these colors, and they’ll be excited to see the new color changes!” • “If you want something really unique for Christmas, check out this Present-Able nail polish. It has glitter in the shape of stars! It’s so fun!” • At the register: “While I’m ringing these up, check out our new holiday nail polish colors on the small display right next to you. At only $10, they make great stocking stuffers.” After they’ve tried them out in the light to see the color change, continue the conversation by asking, “Which one is your favorite?” And then suggest that they add it to the purchase. Up-Sell Opportunities • Nail polish is one of the easiest up-sells at any time. Make sure you’re using the “Buy 3, Get 1 Free” promotion. Be completely shocked and confused if someone wants to buy just one, as if that’s completely unheard-of and odd. • Make sure these colors are included in the POP display on your cash wrap, so you can upsell them at the register. • If your store uses price points for certain giveaways, use the nail polish as an up-sell to get the customer to the next prize level.
