New Iberia Senior High Prom Guidelines DRESS Female Guidelines Formal attire If wearing a short dress, dresses must be no more than five inches from the top of the knee cap (in the front and back). If wearing a long or short dress, slits on dresses should be no higher than mid-thigh. Dresses may be backless; however, must not extend below the waist. Deep “V” or “Sweetheart” necklines are not permitted. Cut-outs are allowed if they are covered with fabric. Cut-outs not backed by fabric and two-piece dresses are not allowed. Visible tattoos are not permitted
Male Guidelines Formal Males should wear a tuxedo or suit Visible tattoos are not permitted Note: Students/guest not properly attired will not be allowed to enter the dance. No refunds will be given. Any student who may be concerned about whether their dress will be approved should see an administrator for approval prior to the date of prom.
ADMITTANCE Breathalyzers – All students and guests will undergo a breathalyzer test for alcohol before being admitted to the dance. Students/guests who test positive will be denied entrance to the dance. Parents will be notified immediately and will be expected to pick up their child. No refunds will be given to students whose test are positive.
ID’s – All students and guest are required to present an ID to enter the dance. This may be a school ID or a valid driver’s license.
Debts – All students are required to pay all debts before being allowed to enter the dance. If students are unable to pay their debt in full, then they need to see the NISH bookkeeper to set up a payment plan.
Jewelry
No excessive or extremely expensive items of jewelry shall not be worn. Nose rings/studs, body piercing with jewelry, tongue studs, eyebrow rings, gauges, etc. are not allowed. Objects that adorn the piercing on the face (including tattoos) along with any other visible region of the body are prohibited.
