Store Hours: WoooHooo! It’s time to party! We’re celebrating our 4th Anniversary with a trunk show and class featuring creator of the Bloc-Loc rulers, Janna Thomas! Janna’s rulers created quite the buzz at quilt market last year, and with all the quilting rulers on the market, that’s hard to do! Then we saw her “Star Fusion” quilt and we just had to have her come show us what all the excitement was about. Janna was a Home Ec teacher for many years until she began quilting, which led her to write her first book, “Courtship Quilts: Inspired by the Victorian Language of Flowers” in 2005. Soon after, Janna was inspired to create her first ruler when her mother came to Thanksgiving dinner with duct tape on a ruler, explaining that she didn't like the rocking and slipping but she couldn’t see through the duct tape. Janna enlisted her husband, Paul, an aircraft maintenance engineer for over 32 years, to bring her ruler ideas to fruition. The first Bloc-Loc ruler went into production in early 2010 and they’ve continued to expand the line of rulers. Janna will share her story through a trunk show of quilts on Friday, January 18 at 7 p.m. at the Wichita County Senior Center. She’ll share tips and techniques featuring her rulers plus other products on the market. Of course we’ll have gifts, drawings for

prizes, and lots of quilty fun! $5 per person. Then join us on Saturday, January 19 from 9 a.m.—4 p.m. for Janna's "Star Fusion" Class, featuring a layering of techniques including string sets, divided rectangles, Bloc Loc rulers, mixing with flying geese, and stitch 'n flip. Every block will be unique like a snowflake! Class is $30 (includes pattern) plus supplies. Please sign up as soon as possible as space is limited. Plus we’ll have in-store specials, so be sure to stop by the shop too!

Mondays Noon—8 p.m. Tuesday—Fridays 10 a.m.—6 p.m. Saturdays 10 a.m.—4 p.m.

Buck-A-Block It’s time to celebrate the New Year with a new Buck-ABlock quilt! This year’s quilt features 7” blocks set on point in either a dark or light colorway. The dark colorway features reds, greens, creams and blacks; while the light colorway features peaches, greens and creams. This year’s quilt finishes 53” x 67”, or you can purchase 2 sets of blocks and finishing kits to make a larger quilt. On our dark colorway sample quilt (left), we just enlarged the borders to make a 63” x 77” quilt. Block kits are $1 per month for the first kit, and $3 per kit for each additional kit.
