Pay a visit to the Levine family's garment workshop and the Rogarshevskys' Sabbath table at the turn of the 20th century, when the Lower East Side was the most densely populated place in the world. Explore how immigrants balanced work, family and religion at a time of great change.

Meet the Moores, an immigrant family struggling with prejudice while celebrating their Irish identity in 1869 New York. Visit their restored home as they prepare for the City’s renowned St. Patrick’s Day parade. Through their experience, you’ll discover how immigrants from different backgrounds forge their own American identities.

Tour sizes are limited. Please note that there is NO elevator in this museum. You must be able to access the 4th floor of the tenement building via 61 steps. As you walk, on your own, to our third stop (10 blocks - approx. 15 minutes) you will have time to stop for lunch at any number of the small cafes and restaurants in this Soho neighborhood that connects to Little Italy. 3

 The group will stay together at the shop locations at their allotted times (i.e. no wondering off to Times Square on your own!).  Lunch and shopping will be your financial responsibility.  Wear your walking shoes! We will be walking up and down the four-storied tenement building as well as walking the 10 blocks in Lower East Side/Soho.  Arrival home to Simsbury will be dependent on the traffic out of NYC, so please be flexible.  All questions should be directed to Gina Finch at Sew Inspired - 860-651-8885
