NEWS & N TES Arcola Elementary December 2017 PRIDE Word of the Month: Diversity ON THE CALENDAR: DECEMBER 5: Project Success Meeting 6:00-7:00 PM, Elementary Library (All welcome, free childcare) 7: K-2 Winter Concert 6:30 PM, JH Gym

At AES, we take pride in our diversity. On a daily basis, our students have exposure to people with different backgrounds, cultures, and traditions than their own. This gives them an experience that will enable them to work more successfully in a global society, to understand others’ perspectives, and to develop acceptance. Together, our differences make life rich.

He’s a Winner! Aiden Myers (left), an AES 4th grader, recently took 2nd place in a photography contest and donated his monetary award to the Rotary’s Pennies for Polio campaign! How nice! Aiden is the son of Hannah and John Myers. He is in Mr. Renshaw’s class.
