Dear Parents and Friends, It has been a wintry week with the weather turning bitterly cold! Please do ensure that your children come to school with warm enough coats, hats, scarves and gloves as we are still committed to our outdoor learning across the school, even in the cold winter months! QUIZ CLUB COMPETITION On Friday 8th January, pupils from across key stage 2 attended our annual quiz club competition. As stated in last week’s newsletter, children gave up their lunch breaks in order to prepare for this competition. Their efforts paid off as the pupils managed to secure 1st and 2nd place positions competing against schools from across the island. Congratulations to Lily Crumpton, Max Myall, Tilly Franklin and Lucas Christensen for gaining 2nd place and to Brandon Attreed, George Toner, Frankie Ardley and Christopher Scammell for securing 1st place! We are all very proud of you. BOYS SINGING PROJECT Boys from Years 5 and 6 have been invited to take part in a singing project at Northwick Park Primary and Nursery Academy. Boys will attend two afternoon sessions where they will learn three songs that will be recorded and entered into a national competition. At the end of the afternoon sessions, they will also perform to parents. More details of this event will be forwarded to the individuals who are attending. RECEPTION CLASS HEALTH SCREEN Reception pupils were recently sent home with letters from the 5-19 Children’s Public Health Service, to offer your child a school entry health screen (including an optional additional vision and hearing test). They are only able to offer this service for a limited time so would encourage you to return your questionnaire (in the envelope provided) to the school office as soon as possible.
