match. The final whistle was greeted with great scenes of joyand relief. Valleys captain Marog Murphy was presented with the cup by Co Chairperson Mary O Sullivan while Laura Brew was awarded Player of the Match. Team U16c Championship County Final Valley Rovers 4-6 to Ballinascarthy 0-4 On Saturday Valleys U16 captured an another county title in an Historic year for the entire Parish. The girls took on Ballinascarthy in the U16c Final played in Camogie head quarters Castle Rd. Ballinascarthy were first to score with an early point from play. Valleys equalized shortly with a Laura Brew free. Both team remained dead locked for the next seven to eight minutes with play swinging from end to end. Ballinascarthy were next to score with a pointed free. In the following two minutes Valleys had two goals which were to have a major turning point in the match. Laura Brew gathered the puck out from Ballinascarthy score and her shot dipped just under the crossbar for her first goal of the game. Within a minute Valleys were awarded a free from mid field and Michelle Cottrell's shot also dipped under the crossbar for a second similar goal. Valleys played with great confidence after these goals and great defence work broke up several Ballinascarthy efforts with goalkeeper Ciara Murphy making some vital saves. Valleys work rate was rewarded with a Grace O Reilly goal before half time leaving the half time score 3-1 to 0-2 in Valleys favour. Ballinascarthy started the second half in blistering fashion and two certain goal chances were saved on the line with brilliant goalkeeping and many more attacks cleared by the backs. it was heart breaking for Ballinascarthy not to score in this period. Valleys added two further points before Laura Brew's 45 dipped under the crossbar for her second goal of the game. Valleys forwards worked tirelessly for the entire game and added two more points. Great combined defensive from all six backs limited Ballinascarthy to just one point in the second half. The game ended on a score of Vallets 4-6 Ballinascarthy 0-3.However this score doesn't reflect Ballinascarthy work rate for the entire
