Last week we celebrated 100 years since the Lower Hutt Corps commenced. It is of course impossible to fathom the influence and practical assistance given out over this period of time by the many people who were an integral part of the operation. People who exercised their freedom of choice to somehow make a difference. This morning, I am wanting to look at Joshua who was a leader of the Jewish nation as they re-entered 'the promised land.' After a lot of religious dilly-dallying he urged them to 'make up their mind as to whom they would serve.' This message seems to me to be just as relevant today as we grapple with priorities over the use of our 'time, talents and treasure.' Who do we put first?

5-20 July School Holidays 20 July OWSOMs Launch 21 July Youth Mission Team 26 July Young Adults Central 27 July Blaze (Miramar) & Children’s International Day of Prayer These evenings are proving to be cool times to get together with peers and talk about relevant conversations that affect us as young adults in society today. It can be hard to be Christian and to sometimes have countercultural ideas in today's world, so it's important to go deep and talk about the meaty stuff and have real conversations that carry on throughout the week. Missy and a few others are going out for dinner before hand so let her know if you are interested.
Jerin will be 13 in September, the family live in a slum area in Bangladesh, she has three brothers and one sister, they are very poor. They migrated from village to town in search of livelihood. Father is a street Vegetable vendour. He sells vegetables from door to door. The family live a hand to mouth existence. Jerin attends The Salvation Army Intergrated Children’s Centre in Bangladesh.
