What was the last MIRACLE MOMENT you had in your life? Did it start with crisis faith? Did you have confident faith or cautious/careful/conservative faith? Who do you know who has confident faith? What does contagious faith look like?
FOCUS OF THE WEEK: JOHN 4:46-54 1. John 4:46: Cana was a small and insignificant place. What does it mean to you that Jesus did this miracle in Cana? What does it mean that His first two signs in John were both in Cana? What does it mean for our church? What does it mean for our community? 2. John 4:46-54: Which three words would you circle as being the most important words in giving insight to this section? Which verse is the most meaningful to you and why? Why do think John picked this miracle as one of the seven he wrote about? 3. THE CRISIS: Why does the story start with a crisis? Why does an unbeliever allow his crisis to draw him to Jesus? Does a crisis usually draw people to Jesus or away from Him? Does a crisis bring you towards Jesus or away? Does the perceived size of the crises impact whether it draws you close or pushes you away? 4. THE CONFIDENCE: Why did the official have faith? Why is it so hard for us to have this kind of confident faith? Does it have to do with not seeing the results we want? How do we increase our confidence in God’s word? How do we increase our confidence in Jesus? How can others help us increase our confidence in God? 5. THE CONFIRMED: Tell a story of where you have seen faith confirmed? Where have you seen God come through? What is the most amazing confirmed faith you have ever seen? Do these stories bring you more confident faith? 6. THE CONTAGIOUS: How does contagious faith require confident faith? Do we believe that God wishes that none would perish? Do we believe that God is not far from anyone? Do we believe we can be the miracle moment for people? FINAL STEP: Find someone and pray with them. Pray for a more confident faith. Pray that they would see a confirmed faith in their miracle moment. Pray that God would show them how they can be used to be someone’s miracle moment. Make a commitment to pray for that person.
