The Nike SPARQ Sensory Station is a state-of-the-art sensory evaluation and training device designed to assess the visual and sensory performance of the modern athlete. Each athlete is tested on 10 sport-relevant visual and sensory performance skills, using a custom app that communicates directly with high definition and touch screen monitors integrated within the unit. Individual results can be compared instantly to our athlete performance database by position, sport and competition level to produce a customized SPARQ Sensory Performance Profile. Every SPARQ Sensory Performance Profile identifies areas for improvement and recommends a course of action, which may include a visit to an eye care practitioner or personalized training plan consisting of software-based training modules, Nike SPARQ Vapor Strobe, or other visual training exercises using tools provided with the peripherals package.

Visual Clarity – Tests how clearly athletes see distant details. Contrast Sensitivity – Tests an athlete’s ability to pinpoint subtle differences in contrast. Depth Perception – Tests an athlete’s speed and accuracy in judging 2-eyed depth information through multiple gaze positions. Near-Far Quickness – Tests an athlete’s ability to change visual attention between near and far distances, quickly and accurately. Target Capture – Tests an athlete’s ability for rapid visual shifting and recognition of peripheral targets. Perception Span – Measures an athlete’s visual quickness in acquiring critical information. Eye-Hand Coordination – Measures an athlete’s ability to make quick and accurate visually-guided hand responses to rapidly changing targets. Decision-Making (Go/No Go) – Measures an athlete’s ability to make quick and accurate decisions in response to rapidly changing targets. Hand Reaction Time – Tests the speed and quickness of an athlete’s hand reaction in response to a visual stimulus. Visual Endurance – Measures an athlete’s capacity to clearly track a target moving toward or away from an athlete.

• The high-tech design and futuristic interface is designed and programmed to be challenging, engaging and relevant to athletes. • The comparison algorithm used to produce a SPARQ Sensory Performance Profile considers the different visual demands by the athlete’s sport and position to illuminate strengths, identify areas of opportunity and create a targeted improvement plan. • All stations produce immediate results and data analytics following each evaluation. • Every athlete’s evaluation history is stored and accessible through the Nike SPARQ Sensory Station with appropriate security for athlete confidentiality. • Evaluations take less than 30 minutes.
