Nike’s ReuseA-Shoe Newman Middle School Green Team
Recycling Shoes This
program recycles old athletic shoes and converts them into athletic playing fields. This supports recycling and gives kids who may not otherwise have access to playing fields nice athletic facilities
Here’s some more information from Nike
So, as you probably guessed, we will be participating in this program. There
will be 3 giant boxes in front of the middle school office – one for 6th grade, one for 7th, and one for 8th If you have old sneakers that are too small or are really beat-up, then drop them in your grade level’s box
The
boxes will be out from Wednesday, December 4 to Wednesday, December 11 (its perfect timing – fall sports will have just finished, so you can donate all your beat-up shoes from this season!)
There will even be a reward for the grade that collects the most shoes The
grade with the MOST SHOES in their box by December 13th will get a DRESS DOWN DAY with ATHLETIC SHORTS (this is an athletic charity, after all) So we suggest you participate in this friendly competition . . .
