All seams are 1/4”. Press seams as indicated. Fabric Requirements: One Layer Cake or Bali Cracker
Select thirty-two squares for the centre of the quilt and four for the side triangles

Cutting Instructions: 1. From the layer cake, select thirty-two squares for the centre of the quilt and set aside. 2. Select four squares to cut up for the side triangles: • Cross-cut each square twice diagonally to end up with a total of sixteen triangles (you will need fourteen of these triangles). 3. From the background fabric: • Cut one strip 16¼” x width of fabric; sub-cut into twelve 3½” x 16¼” rectangles. • Cut one strip 16¼” x width of fabric; sub-cut into two 3½” x 16¼” rectangles and two 10” x 10” squares. Cut the squares once diagonally to end up with a total of four triangles for corners. 4. From the binding fabric: • Cut seven strips 2½” x width of fabric.

Pieced Side Triangles: 1. Join each 3½” x 16¼” rectangle to a layer cake triangle. Press toward the triangle. Make fourteen.
2. Trim each side triangle unit back to a triangle by following the angle with a long ruler. Cut off each extra bit of the rectangle on each side.
Quilt Assembly: 1. Starting in the top left corner, arrange the rows and side triangles on the diagonal, using the diagram below for reference. Trim the excess from each side triangle before joining the rows. Trim excess fabric before joining rows

2. Trim away the excess side triangle fabric in the four corners of the quilt and attach the corner triangles. Press toward the corner triangles. The corner triangles are slightly larger than necessary so you can square off your four corners using a square ruler. Trim excess fabric before adding the corner triangles Trim corner back to a square
3. Layer and quilt. Join the binding strips end to end and attach to quilt using your preferred method.
