October 2-31, 2017 PROSPECTUS ELIGIBILITY: New Jersey Art Association members whose dues are paid for 2017 may submit
two original, two-dimensional works of art that have not previously received awards in an MSHAC or NJAA exhibition or appeared in more than two of the group’s shows. Diptychs and triptychs will be accepted only if they are mounted in a single frame. Sculptures cannot be accommodated in this exhibit. Each artist’s submissions should be ranked (No. 1 and No. 2). If the show is oversubscribed, only the No. 1 works will be accepted. In that case, an email notice announcing the change will be distributed before receiving day. Submitted works must be ready for hanging (framed and securely wired), may not be smaller than 11 by 14 inches, including the frame, or larger than 30 by 40 inches and may not weigh more than 20 pounds. Plexiglas rather than regular glass is recommended for larger works. Further details can be found in the Exhibition Guidelines on the NJAA website, www.njartassoc.org. A copy of the guidelines is enclosed with this prospectus. Wet or tacky paintings will not be accepted. Crafts, giclées, prints or copies of previously published images will not be accepted, nor will works depicting nudity, violence or alcohol or drug-related themes or any subjects deemed inappropriate by NJAA or the Morris County Library staff. The hanging and placement of artwork will be at the discretion of the exhibition chair and the library staff.
REGISTRATION: All entries must be registered in advance. The deadline is Monday, Sept. 25,
2017. No registrations will be accepted after that date. To register, email the form below and digital photos of your work to Anastasia Mancuso at [email protected]. The $20 registration fee, in a check payable to the New Jersey Art Association, must be received by Sept.25, 2017. EXHIBITION HOURS: The exhibit will be open for viewing during regular library hours: Monday
to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. NOTE: The library will be closed on Monday, Oct. 9, for the Columbus Day holiday. JUROR: Joel Popadics is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and the
recipient of many national awards. His work has been featured repeatedly in The Artist’s Magazine and American Artist. He holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York. RECEPTION AND AWARDS: Awards will be presented at a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday,
Oct. 22. SALES: Artists are expected to donate 15 percent of sales proceeds to the library. Sales tax
should be included in the price of the work, and selling artists will be responsible for reporting the tax. PICKUP: Unsold works may be picked up between 10 a.m. and noon on Tuesday, Oct. 31.
Neither NJAA nor the Morris County Library will assume responsibility for work not retrieved during the pickup period.
