Pleasure Rings(HOY Qualifier) Start Time 8.30am Pleasure Horse/Pony means those animals that do not fit the mould of a Show Horse/Pony. We welcome any breed (e.g. Appaloosas, Quarter Horses, Standardbreds, Clyde X) and colour. They should be an uncomplicated and genuine pleasure to ride. Whilst they do not possess the show quality conformation of a show horse, they should in their own way be a delight to ride, with impeccable manners. A “pleasure mount” is NOT an inexperienced mount with show quality conformation who is destined for the open show ring.
Adults may ride ponies in rings 5 and 6.
Combination never to have been placed in ring classes at an A&P Show.
Snaffle bit only, no poll action
Whips may be carried but must not exceed 76cms in length.
Spurs are not to be worn.
Dropped, Grackle (crossed) nosebands, or flash straps are not permitted. Martingales, bit guards, training aids e.g. bearing, side, running or balancing reins, boots, bandages, any form of blinkers, ear plugs, hoods and shadow blinds are not permitted
Levin Pony Club reserves the right to move a competitor to a different class to the one they entered if in their opinion the combination is not in an appropriate class.

All competitors and spectators enter the grounds at their own risk. Neither the Levin Pony Club nor the Levin AP&I accept any liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to ponies, horses, and riders or any other persons or property whatsoever. Hacks allowed in pony rings for RIDER classes only. Approved hats must be worn while mounted. st Novice for ring classes – combination not to have been placed 1 at A&P show. Height Certificates must be produced if requested or prize money will be withheld. Lead rein ponies in specified classes only. Prizes may consist of goods or vouchers to the value of prizes stated. If less than 6 entries are received in a class no 3rd and 4th prize money will be paid. No adult riders on ponies in open rings, but can ride ponies in pleasure hack class. Entries on the day have a $10 surcharge per mount. Late entries must be made at least 15 minutes before the start of each class at the secretary’s truck. NO refunds unless horse or rider declared unfit by senior steward. Kicking pony to wear a red tail ribbon. Judges decision final in all events Protests must be made in writing accompanied by $50 (returned if protest upheld) within 15 min of completion of event in question. Levin Pony Club reserves the right to make any changes to the programme or to postpone or cancel sports, refuse entry, eliminate any unruly horse or pony if they deem it necessary. Levin Pony Club reserves the right to move a competitor to a different class to the one they entered if in their opinion the combination is not in an appropriate class. All riders & supporters are expected to show good sportsmanship. Threatening, disrespectful or other such antisocial behavior towards other riders, judges, spectators, ground volunteers or other such persons present at this event will not be tolerated. Persons deemed to be involved in such behavior will be asked to leave the grounds immediately with no refund of entry fees provided. Cruelty to any mount will not be tolerated. Any persons deemed to be involved in such behavior will be asked to leave without any refund of fees. Please remove ALL Pooh, hay, rubbish from the grounds when you leave. NO truck or float entry via Victoria Street – NO truck or float parking on show ground tarmac areas. Cancellations broadcast on facebook and equestrian entries. This event will operate under the NZPCA Fair-play charter.
