ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS Preschool: We are happy to report that our OLA Preschool had their annual unannounced licensing visit from an analyst at Community Care Licensing, and we passed with flying colors! The analyst commented that it was a joy to visit such a happy place! We are blessed to have Preschool Director Patty Jones and her fabulous staff, and we thank them for all of their hard work and devotion to our Preschool/TK program.

Cub Scouts: OLA School hosts Cub Scouts for boys in grades 1 through 5. Tiger Cubs (1 grade); Wolves (2 grade); rd th th th Bears (3 grade); Webelos (4 and 5 grades). During 5 grade, Webelos graduate to Boy Scouts. Cub Scout Pack 225 meets on the third Thursday of the month, at 6:30pm, in St. John’s Hall. Enjoy building and racing boats, launching rockets, fishing, hiking, riding bikes, pinewood derby cars, and so much more! Our first pack meeting of the school year is st on Thursday, September 21 . Cyber Security Seminar: Casey Honaker, an OLA graduate, is hosting a seminar for 7 –10 graders on Cyber Security, rd as part of his Eagle Scout project. The seminar is September 23 , from 9am-2pm at Jesuit High School. If you are interested in attending, please respond to [email protected].

Workforce: If you have already signed up for auction jobs, please check SchoolSpeak to confirm details of your jobs. If you have not yet signed up for auction jobs, please do so via SchoolSpeak soon. Auction workforce sign-ups will be closed and locked on Monday, Oct. 2nd. Changes to SchoolSpeak commitments need to be made BEFORE October 2nd. Once sign-ups are locked, families will need to find their own replacements or be subject to a fee of $25/hour. As a reminder, “Preschool only” families are required to work 5 auction hours, while K-8 families (with or without a preschooler) are required to work 10 auction hours. Any hours worked over a family’s 5 or 10 hour auction minimum may be put towards your overall (non-Country Fair and non-Parish) 2017-18 volunteer commitment. Youth Ministry Dinner and Mass Fellowship Night: Every 3 Sunday of the month, come and break bread in the youth room. Then, attend Mass together and experience our faith through prayers and worship. There will be a light dinner in the youth room from 6:30pm to 7:15pm followed by attendance at the 7:30pm Mass. Help to participate in the Mass by greeting, ushering, bringing up the gifts, and Reading. This evening is for youth in grades 7–12. RSVP is not required.
