FEBRUARY 4

Your Story Matters: Spiritual Renewal in the New Year Thursdays through Feb. 25 7-9 p.m., Room 306 This course invites you to examine your story and consider new chapters and twists in your plot. Using readings and short films, we will reflect alone and together to renew our spirits in the new year. The course will invite you to view your story as an opportunity to choose life, to live loved, to live unashamed, to be open to rebirth, to die to self, to build a life of grace, to see anew, and to find goodness. Contact Karen Quance Jeske at [email protected]. No fee.

AMOS 10:10 Bible Study Sundays through March 20 10:10 a.m., Inspiration Lounge Have you ever wondered about the prophets in the Bible that you don’t hear much about? Have you heard about an organization called AMOS but don’t know what it’s about? Join David Telfort to find out about Amos the prophet and the community organizing group A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy (AMOS). We will discuss the themes of economic justice, speaking truth to power, and justice work rooted in relationship with God. This six-week Bible Study will be an opportunity to dig into the biblical witness of a fiery prophet and to learn about the legacy and future of an equally fiery, transformative organization. Bring your Bibles, questions, or just yourselves! FMI, contact [email protected].

16 Politics and Faith? Tuesdays through March 22 7-8 p.m., Waveland Hall We’re told never to discuss politics and religion in conversations.

It’s a good thing we like to break the mold here at Plymouth. Join ministers Valerie Miller-Coleman and David Telfort as we discuss what it means to engage in political life and activity informed by our Christian faith and ethics. The election cycle brings to the forefront hot-button issues and they will be discussed! If you would like a safe space to process where you land on issues like: immigration, abortion, same-sex marriage, economic justice etc. this is the class for you!
