You’ve submitted your appointment paperwork for Annexus/Athene, What Happens Next? Certification/Training Process Annuity Suitability Requirements: Producers that sell or solicit annuity products are required to take a specific CE course (390 annuity suitability and model law) and a Carrier Product specific course as part of the NAIC Model Suitability Rule. This rule prohibits an agent from soliciting an annuity application unless the producer has adequate knowledge of the product and the producer is in compliance with the carriers standards of product training. 1. Training

The following are required courses: A. BAA+ BALIR base product training including the BALIR information. (In states where the BAA is available) B. BCA base product training including the BALIR information. (In states where the BCA is available) C. Annuity suitability and model law training – If required by your state and you have not already completed it. 2. Certification The following are the instructions for product certifications:

For Contracted Advisors: advisors who have already received an Annexus/Athene writing number A: Go to - https://secure.reged.com/Login/vu/VirtualUniversity/AVIVA B: Create a login Username: Use the first four characters of your last name followed by the last six digits of your social security number. For Example, the username for John McChrystal 123-45-6789 is mcch456789.  If your last name has less than four characters, such as with Roe, your username will be roe456789.  All non-alpha characters should be removed from the last name including dashes, spaces, etc.  All dashes should be removed from the social security number. Password: changeme (lowercase)  You will be prompted to change your password once you have successfully logged in to the training site

Courses A. BCA/BAA & BALIR Agent Certification Training Click on ‘AVIVA Product Training’ Take the following courses: Balanced Allocation Annuity (12AVIVA_02) Balanced Choice Annuity with BALIR Training (13AVIVA_03) For the model law suitability course Click on ‘Annuity Suitability then Select New Courses and CE Credit’ and then “I want to receive Insurance and/or Professional Designation CE Credits” and follow the prompts through NOTE: After each training course is completed, you will be provided with a certificate. Please print and send this certificate to either Kevin Hedstrom or [email protected].

For Non Contracted Advisors: advisors who have not received an Annexus/ Athene writing number A: Go to https://secure.reged.com/trainingplatform/index.html B: Register and create login: Click ‘Register online’ – Located on the right hand side of the screen under ‘Producers Get Started’. Fill out the registration form (basic personal information, and a business address) – You will receive two emails almost immediately once you click the ‘Submit’ button, one containing your username and the second containing your password. Next you will see a “manage annuities product training requirements” screen. Here you select all states you are licensed in, noting whether it’s your resident state or not. Once complete, you will be taken to your producer screen. NOTE: You can also complete your NAIC suitability requirement (model law training), if needed, simply by clicking the ‘order course’ button to the right side of this producer screen.

AML Training In your welcome letter you will be instructed that AML training must be completed within 30 days of contracting. It is required that all agents complete this training prior to submitting business and must complete once every 2 years before expiration date to maintain active appointment. To complete your AML certification, please follow these steps: A. Go to: https://aml.limra.com (available 24/7). B. If you have not previously registered, the username is the first four letters of your last name (lowercase) and the last six digits of your social security number. Your password will be your last name. C. Once you have logged in, you will be asked to change your password. The password must be at least eight characters, one of which is numeric. D. If you are unable to retrieve your password, you can contact LIMRA’s Customer Support at 866364-2380 (M-F 8:30 am to 6 pm ET). E. LIMRA does not issue a certificate for this training, but once complete, LIMRA transmits records directly to the carrier. If you have completed your AML training through another vendor you may submit your certificate by emailing it to [email protected].

MyAnnexus: Marketing Kit and New Business Forms: 1. When you receive your welcome letter (via email from [email protected]), call Kevin Hedstrom at 860-838-4853 to set up your ‘MyAnnexus’ website account where you can access all new business and marketing supplies. You can expect your supplies to arrive approximately 7 to 10 business days from the day we receive your request.

New Business Process When submitting business for Athene, please submit the applications directly to your Office Manager, who will then forward to the Senior Market Sales New Business Department. The application will then be reviewed for completion and you will be notified by your case manager if there are any outstanding requirements. Four business days are provided to submit all corrections. After the application is complete and in good order, it is submitted to Athene for processing. Should you have questions on completing an application or additional new business forms, you can contact your Office Manager.
