Pairs! Cut out the boxes and challenge your classmate to a game of pairs! There are a number of quotes each of which correspond to a teaching or belief. Brahman is the ultimate reality; the ultimate truth.

Brahman is within us all; the atman.

Brahman is sirguna, with attributes that save humans in their limitedness.

“It is only because of His light that other things are seen and understood” Katha Upanishad 5:16

Through belief in Brahman we truly understand the world around us.

“To what is One, sages give many a title.” Rig Veda 1.164.46

Brahman is one and Hinduism can therefore be classed as monotheistic.

“I am the source of the immortal spirit, of everlasting dharma and of the absolute bliss.” Bhagavad Gita 14:27

God is personal as the spirit (atman) is an extension of the Supreme Being.

Worship Brahman through use of symbols and deities.

“One is dear to Me who does not harm any creature, who is friendly and compassionate, free from the notion of ‘I’ or ‘my’.” Bhagavad Gita 12:13-14

To be close to Brahman is to realise your connection with all of creation.

God is within our hearts.

The monistic belief that everything is made up of one essential essence – the atman.

“If you are unable to focus your mind steadily on Me, then long to attain Me by practice of any other spiritual discipline.” Bhagavad Gita 12:9
