SAVE THE DATE! Church-Wide
Picnic
Most everyone loves a picnic, even ants and uncles (no, that’s not a typo!). So I am encouraging you to mark your calendars and plan to bring your family and friends to the big day. This event will not only provide an “unplugged” environment for fun and fellowship, it will also provide us with opportunities to engage unbelieving and unchurched families in a relaxing setting so they can experience believers in a non-church situation. So, begin praying now for some folks to invite and pray also that the Holy Spirit will make this opportunity more than just a social outing. We have scheduled The Lakehouse of the Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran Church here in Jacksonville. They have 40-acres that includes a lake for swimming and is a great place for a church picnic. The property is located a short distance off Greenland Road between I-95 and Phillips Highway. We are starting our search for people who would serve on the Planning Team. This will be a small group of people who will steer the planning efforts and recruit other teams to help with food, recreation, parking, and other specifics of the event. If you are interested in being part of the Planning Team, you can volunteer by sending me an email (
[email protected]) or by calling the church office and letting Dawn Lee know you are “in” for serving on the PT. If we get more volunteers than we need on the core planning group, we will definitely have a place for you to serve! Remember, we’re Baptist and our motto is “no volunteer left behind.” Let’s combine a time for great fellowship with an opportunity to engage others outside our church family and make this a memorable event!
