WORK EXPERIENCE Intern for B-Side – BFM 89.9 The Business Radio Station, Selangor, Malaysia June to August 2013 The B-Side is an interactive and modern tablet magazine on culture, lifestyle and politics by BFM 89.9, Malaysia’s only independent radio station, focused on business news and current affairs. Conducted extensive research for the Women in Politics issue of The B-Side – wrote a background profile of all the assemblywomen that were elected to Parliament in Malaysia after the elections Assisted in the daily management of the magazine including proofreading articles, fact-checking and brainstorming ideas for future issues Intern – Muse Magazine, Hong Kong May 2013 Muse Magazine is a bilingual multimedia publisher in Hong Kong that focuses on art and culture content Involved in brainstorming for topics with the aim to develop a cultural wiki of Hong Kong’s culture – this was then followed with research and writing for a wiki entry on the annual Dragon Boat Carnival Utilised social media websites Twitter and Facebook to promote the wiki entry created, garner general interest to check and correct entries and encourage future contributions to the wiki Junior Writer - AMG International, Selangor, Malaysia July to August 2012 The Adaikalaraj Media Group creates and publishes English magazines including International Business Review – the leading business-to-business magazine in Malaysia and PASSIONS – a high-end lifestyle magazine Responsibilities included summarising conferences and speeches for the International Business Review.
