PEN LAMP SHADE INSTRUCTIONS Transform your tired old lampshade into a crafty new table lamp!
MATERIALS • 150-200 Old Pens (can be any color) with a cap that has a clip holder • Lamp and lampshade with old covering removed • Glue sticks for hot glue gun
TOOLS • Hot Glue Gun
START! STEP 1 Disassemble each pen, take out the ink cartridges, the springs and rubber grips. You will only need upper body and lower body of each pen, so you can send the leftover pieces back to TerraCycle for recycling.
STEP 2 Screw the upper bodies of the pens into the lower ones and vice versa.
STEP 3 Once they are screwed in heat up your hot glue gun. Place a dot of glue on the lower body where the tip of the pen would normally be and place it into the upper body, where the clicker would usually be.
TIP:
If you don’t have enough pens, start a TerraCycle collection Brigade!
STEP 4 Once it is assembled, use the metallic clip of the upper body and attach the two pens to the lampshade ring.
STEP 5 Continue making and clipping on the pens until you make your way around the lampshade.
STEP 6 Once all the pens are attached, glue all of them together by placing a dot of glue where the upper body meets the lower body.
