Oliver “O.J.” Peyton

Oliver “O.J.” Peyton, 86, of Warren, MN, passed away on Sunday morning, May 24, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN. Oliver was born on March 13, 1929 in Enderlin, ND, the son of Milo and Martha Peyton. He served in the U.S. Navy as medic during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, Oliver graduated from University of North Dakota with a Masters Degree. On May 27, 1955, he was united in marriage to Leatrice Davidson in Grand Forks. They moved to Warren in 1956. O.J. taught at the Warren Public School system for 37 years. He was named Teacher of the Year in 1972. Leatrice died on December 6, 2007. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Warren American Legion Post #27. O.J. was known as a great educator and he loved to visit with people, especially former students. Left to mourn his passing are three sons, David Peyton of Warren, MN, Michael (Allison) Peyton of Grand Forks, ND and Brad (Ronda) Peyton of Mankato, MN; four grandchildren, Ryan, Bailey, Kylie and Skylar. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leatrice; sister, Lillian and brother, Milo Jr..
