Phil Stevenson Research and Publications Manger, Public Safety Performance Project, Pew Charitable Trusts Phillip Stevenson is research and publications manager for the Pew Charitable Trusts, Public Safety Performance Project. Prior to joining Pew, Phillip served as director of the Arizona Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) at the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission and as interim director of the Illinois SAC at the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority. During his tenure as SAC director, Phillip served on a variety of boards, commissions, and work groups including the board of directors of SEARCH, the National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics, the Justice Research and Statistics Association executive committee, including two terms as its president, chair of the Arizona Substance Abuse Partnership Epidemiology Work Group, co-chair of Arizona’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System Task Force, and served on the Redeploy Illinois Oversight Board, and the Illinois Juvenile Detention Alternatives Partners group. Prior to moving to Washington, DC Phillip was recognized by Arizona Governors Janet Napolitano and Janice Brewer for his work on substance abuse issues and by the United States Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona for his work on a statewide reentry initiative. Phillip received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sociology from the University of Arizona and his Ph.D. in sociology from Loyola University Chicago.
