Pillows 101

SUPPLIES Fabric: * 1 yard of home decor or similar weight fabric (54-60" wide); which will make both of the pillow covers for a 12" pillow form, or more fabric as needed for a larger pillow form (e.g. 1&1/2 yards of fabric for a 18" pillow form). It never hurts to have extra fabric! It's recommended to pre-wash fabric before class, but we know this doesn't always work out. Pillow Forms: * Two pillow forms the size of your choice - samples on the wall at Pacific Fabrics are 18" and 16". I'd recommend a 12", 14" or 16" square pillow form for starting out, but the size is your choice. Additional Supplies: * Zipper 2-4" smaller than your pillow size * Thread to match the fabric * Seam ripper * Fabric scissors * Measuring tape * Pins * Chalk or marking pencil * Sewing Machine (there are sewing machines available for use if you do not have one) * Zipper foot for your sewing machine for (if you do not have one, we will get you on a sewing machine for the zipper portion that does have one) Please note: We will work on one type of pillow case in each class (envelope and zipper styles) - there may be homework if we don't complete everything in class.
