Pine-Richland Crew Fundraiser Dear Prospective Donor: The Pine Richland Crew Team was founded in 2002. In 2007, Pine-Richland School District recognized crew as a club sport when the team came under the leadership of Florin Curuea, an elite rower from the Romanian Olympic team. As a result, opportunities for college scholarships have become increasingly available to students. As a club sport, Pine Richland School District does not fully fund this sport. It is still extremely difficult for high school rowing programs to exist, let alone become competitive since the parents must absorb most of the club’s expenses. This includes the cost of competitive equipment, i.e. boats, and transportation to and from practices and events. To help support the club’s efforts and to raise money the Pine Richland Crew Booster was formed. It is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. We are currently raising money to help fund a new boat to add to our fleet. The success of fundraising events can be made possible by the generosity of many local businesses and organizations. We are asking for your donation of any product or service that your company may provide. Your donation will be used as an auction item or as a monetary contribution during our spring fundraising event. Enclosed you will find a donation form. Please contact one of us if you have any questions regarding your donation. We would like to receive all donations by May 23, 2014. On behalf of the Pine Richland Crew Boosters, we would like to thank you in advance for your support. This year’s spring event will be on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at The Columbian Room in Wexford, PA. Your commitment to help us to raise money for our new boat and future boats is sincerely appreciated. With help of donations from supporters such as you, we will be able to continue to equip the Crew team with the resources to be competitive.
Sincerely,
