Dear Brother & Sister in Christ In response to the call of Jesus to seek justice for the poor, Chinese Community United Methodist Church (CCUMC) supports a grassroots ministry called Youth and Child Visionary Ministry (YCVM) in Kumi, Uganda. YCVM has a vision to care for and educate vulnerable children, many whom are orphans, as well as to share the Good News of God’s Kingdom come near. We are excited to share with you that this summer, CCUMC is hosting a visit by Silver Omakenyi, visionary founder of YCVM, and YCVM Board member, Grace Among. They will be in the Bay Area for six short weeks to share the riveting stories of an abounding faith that survived the throes of dictatorships and civil unrest, and inspired them to launch a bold and audacious plan to transform lives. Not satisfied with just caring for a small group of local orphans, YCVM is in the midst of building a 7 room school in their rural village that can serve many more vulnerable boys and girls. You are invited to meet Silver and Grace and be transformed by their testimonies.
