OUR CRAFTY EXPLORER EXPERIENCE! On Friday 7th March, Reception was visited by Crafty Explorers who came to do a workshop with us. As our current topic is all about Growing and changes in nature, we wanted to have a closer look at natural materials. The Crafty Explorers brought a wealth of different parts of nature for us to work with ranging from clay to shells, straw and many others. They talked to us about where each of the natural materials comes from and showed us how to make our own animals using the materials provided. When we all created our own animal, we were then assigned 3 outside missions each and got a special stamp when we completed each one. Our 3 missions were to: 1. Dance with our animal, 2. Fly with our animal and 3. Move like a squirrel with our animal. We had so much fun completing our missions. We all very much enjoyed the whole workshop and the children’s creations were imaginative and rather fabulous. We are now looking forward to going to the Dulwich Wildlife Centre soon to discover more about nature and growing.
