7 WAYS YOU CAN HELP ADVANCE POINT LOMA ATHLETICS 2016-17 Highlights • PLNU wins 2016 Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence with the highest Academic Success Rate in entire NCAA Division II (99%). • PacWest Academic Scholar Athletes: 145 (2 out of every 3 PLNU student-athletes) • NCAA Regional Appearances: Women’s Cross Country, Women’s Basketball • PLNU’s firstbaseman, Ryan Garcia, selected in 2017 MLB Draft by Seattle Mariners • 2016 PLNU Cross Country had its best finish in NCAA program history • PacWest “Libero of the Year” Award – Christin Fisher (Volleyball) • PLNU student-athletes have exceeded a 3.25 GPA each year (3.37 this year) since joining the NCAA • PacWest Coach of the Year: Jerry Arvin (Cross Country) • PLNU Men’s Basketball first ever win over NCAA Top 5 team which aired on Fox Sports TV I would like to personally thank you for taking the time to consider donating to the Loma Athletic Fund. We are incredibly blessed to have each contribution, as it plays a critical role in the success of all PLNU student-athletes on the field, in the classroom, and throughout their lives. Our student-athletes have done their part by claiming the 2016 NCAA Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence with the highest academic success rate in the country. They won the PacWest Conference Community Engagement Award for their involvement in the community, had an incredible 37 AllConference performers on the field, and 145 All-Academic performers in the classroom. Now it’s our turn to step up to help them! Our primary focus is always to ensure our current student-athletes have the best college experience possible. Unfortunately, without financial support, that shared vision becomes much more limited.
