The Friends of St Mary’s C of E (Aided) Primary School Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM on Monday. We are delighted to announce that the following committee is now in place: Chairperson: Belinda Palmer Co Chairperson: Teresa Portman Secretary: Lisa Hyde Treasurer: Caroline King We know they will do a fantastic job and appreciate them coming forward so the Friends can continue their fundraising for the children at the school. NEXT MEETING..... We shall be holding a planning meeting for the Christmas Bazaar on Tuesday 1st November at 3.00pm straight after pick up in Year 3/4 classrooms. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to hearing any ideas you or your children may have to make this a successful and fun event for everyone.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR We are thrilled to be holding the bazaar at the Town Hall this year on Friday 2nd December 2016 from 4.00pm till 6.30pm. This evening coincides with the town event ‘Chippy Christmas’ where there will be a food market, late night shopping, craft and gift stalls as well as a grotto to meet Santa. We will have loads of great stalls suitable for everyone, the always popular Chocolate Tombola, a Boozy Tombola for the over 18’s amongst us and the Teddy Tombola. There will be a variety of craft and market stalls for all your Christmas shopping needs. Also there will be games for the kids to play, face painting and craft making stalls where the children can make cards and gifts for all the family. The Singing Club will also be performing some Christmas Carols for everyone to enjoy.

POSTER COMPETITION Entries for the Christmas Bazaar poster competition must be returned by Monday 7th November 2016. We shall be picking a winner from Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Each winner will receive a prize from the Friends. We can’t wait to see what the kids come up with. All the information should have been sent home with your child but everything you need to know will follow in this newsletter.

Non School Uniform Day Friday 25th November 2016 will be a non school uniform day. Please bring in a donation on this day for the very popular Chocolate Tombola. The Chocolate Tombola is always a firm favourite at the Christmas Bazaar.

The Teddy Tombola is always very popular and if anyone has any unwanted teddies they could kindly donate, we are very grateful. Please bring them to school from Monday 28th November 2016.

TOY AND BOOK DONATIONS We always like to run the toy and book stall, so again if anyone has any toys or books that they no longer need or know of anyone wanting to clear out any unwanted toys and books please bring them along to the school office from Monday 28th November 2016. Thank you.

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE A book of raffle tickets will be sent home with each child after the half term holiday. One book contains five tickets, each ticket costing £1. The raffle will be drawn at the Town Hall at 6.00pm during the Christmas Bazaar on Friday 2nd December 2016. Please return any ticket stubs and monies to the school office by this date. If you think you can sell extra tickets books will also be available at the school office. We appreciate any ticket sales you can make.

We have had some great prize donations this year including a Family Ticket for Cotswold Farm Park, Voucher for 2 for an Event at Silverstone Race Track, Family Ticket for The Motoring Museum. Attractions in the area have been extremely generous and we hope there is a prize that will appeal to everyone.

CAKES AND BAKES We have some fantastic bakers amongst the children and parents at St Mary’s and they always do us very proud in what is brought along to sell at our events. Anyone who can bake for us please bring along any cakes, biscuits and treats to school on Friday 2nd December 2016 or bring them down to Chipping Norton Town Hall for 4.00pm when the Christmas Bazaar begins.

Last but not least...... Thank you We appreciate any help and support any one offers to The Friends and the school. It is a very busy time of year and any donations, raffle ticket sales or volunteering is wonderful. If anyone can help set up for the Bazaar, run a stall or help clear away, there is a signing up sheet at the school office. We hope to see all the children and their families having fun at

the Bazaar and enjoying the ‘Chippy Christmas’ throughout the town.
