[email protected] LOS ANGELES, CA, September 9, 2016 -- Bob Linford has accepted the position of vice president, California operations for Giroux Glass, Inc. In this newly-created role, Bob now heads all operations for California, supervising functions from the field to the offices in Los Angeles and Fresno, as well as at the Giroux Glass San Bernardino fabrication facility. Bob has been with the company for over ten years and previously held the title of director, commercial contracts. Bob brings to this new role his many years of management experience in the glazing industry. He literally was born into the industry, as his entire family was involved in glazi ng. Bob’s father was the last of nine boys, and the youngest six formed the “Linford Brothers Glass.” Starting from summers spent at age 11 sweeping floors at his family’s business, he has since performed every function of glazing one could perform in this industry. The one gap in his continuous glazing career was time served in the Marine Corps and Vietnam. Afterwards, he returned to the family business, taking seriously his role of apprentice to learn from those he considers to be some of the best in the industry, starting with his father, Dale. “There is no one who knew the trade more than my father; He was my role model and idol.” Bob achieved journeyman status, then foreman shortly after, and led several million dollar projects while going back to school. He graduated in 1981 from Weber State College, with a Business degree. With many cousins ahead of him in line for posi tions in the family business, in 1982, Bob left to start his own company, “Weber Valley Glass.” He ran Weber Valley for almost 20 years, until he dissolved the company in 2002. A year later, Bob decided to leave Ogden to move to Giroux Glass in Los Angeles. Hired as a project manager , he then became general manager. After 5 years, he left for Best Contracting, for 3 years as vice president, glazing, until returning to estimate again for Giroux Glass, Inc. “I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to increasing our operational efficiencies ,” says Linford about his new role.
