COUNTY BOARD DIRECTED: “Direct Staff to prepare a report on past, present and projected vehicular traffic and transit (both bus and metro) ridership for the Crystal City/Pentagon City/Aurora Highlands/Arlington Ridge areas. And then bring that all together and begin to have a public conversation about what it tells us and about what more we need to know.”

Building Level Transportation Studies
In Arlington, across all levels of the planning spectrum, land use and transportation planning are coordinated. The scale and granularity of the transportation studies performed at each level get smaller as you move down the spectrum. Ultimately the transportation effects at each level are related to changes in population or employment, along with service to support these changes. After completion of new projects Arlington County typically requires a review of the transportation performance for projects. This information helps inform future planning efforts.
Information or data across this spectrum will be gathered and used to inform this report.
