OBJECTIVES Preview Day is UNA’s open house style high school recruitment day. There are usually about 2,000 students at this event each year. Our goal for Preview Day is to firmly establish brand awareness and engagement with potential students of UNA. We will also want to make a good first impression with their parents. A secondary goal is to establish location awareness about The Hill Branch to these potential students.
BACKGROUND Listerhill has played an active roll in this game for the past four years. In 2013, we had success by following this same plan. In years previous, we have handed out swag at the on-campus branch and then hosted a hula-hoop contest on the field during the game.
TARGET AUDIENCE Our target is the potential UNA student and their parents. These potential UNA students are 1719 years old and are probably in a mindset of curiousity. If they’re with friends, they may be more confident and outgoing. If they are with their parents, they could be more reserved.
PARAMETERS We will have a small setup in Flowers during the Browse Fair, similar to our SOAR setup. After the Browse Fair is over, we’ll tear down and move to The Hill branch as students will be walking through The Commons for different sessions.
TACTICS We should give them something they will keep long-term so that if they choose UNA, they already have “that piece of college gear” to bring with them. We will also want to put a copy of SET Magazine in their hands to enhance their “college day” experience while also introducing them to The Hill brand through its advertisements.

TEAM SCHEDULE Total Team Time: 9:15am - 4:30pm 9:15am - Arrive at Flowers Hall • Unload swag (sunglasses) • Have team meeting 9:30am - Browse Fair begins • Students arrive • Hand out sunglasses • Find Half-Time Contestants 9:30am - Setup Field Activities • Take Van from Flowers to Field • Setup Tailgate Area • Deliver magazines to each entrance (A, B, C, D, E on map) 11:00am - Pack up Browse Fair • Load up swag & pack up Station • Talk about lunch 11:15am - Lunch • Chick-fil-a? • 1 hr lunch 12:15pm - Tailgate • Coin-Toss Challenge • Bag-o-Board • Hand out sunglasses 1:45pm - Pack up Tailgating (if it feels right) 2:00pm - SET Distribution • Begin handing out at entrances • Runner then to refill entrances as needed 2:30pm - Meet Coin Toss winner • Give winner a t-shirt to wear • Give swag to cheerleaders (t-shirts) • Escort winner to field until coin toss • Take picture with winner on the field • Thank winner and escort back 3:00pm - UNA Game Begins 3:30pm - Pack Up • Pack up remaining SET mags & racks • Everyone except Kyle can leave 4:00pm - Halftime Contest (see halftime contest event plan for details)

Gain the attention of a Preview Day Student with opening salutations. Ask something like: “Would you like to do the coin toss at today’s UNA game?” “Well if you can beat me in a coin toss, I’ll put your name in a drawing to do today’s coin toss. It’s the best 2 outta 3. Ready?” Hand them a quarter. Play. IF THEY WIN.
1. Congratulate the winner. 2. Confirm the winner plans to be at the game. 3. Collect their name & cell phone number. 4. Tell them the drawing will be after 1:00pm (during lunch) and we’ll contact the winner by phone before 2:00pm. 5. If they win, they will need to be available to meet at 2:30pm. 6. Be sure they have some swag in hand. (The Hill drawstring bag.)
