NATURE AND ART COME TOGETHER IN

by Kim Cridler The natural world of flora and fauna meets the industrial materials of steel, bronze and silver and the result is a stunning display of beautiful sculptures. The seemingly utilitarian metal vases and vessels of Kim Cridler’s creation are decorated with beeswax, mother of pearl, silk, bone, amber, and other organic materials in forms of leaves, flowers, bees, and other animals. A Michigan native, Cridler’s work has been seen at the National Ornamental Metal Museum, as part of ArtPrize, and now at Edsel & Eleanor Ford House. Nature Uncontained will be on display in the Visitor Center January 11 to March 30, 2014 and is free of charge. The Cotswold Café will be open for lunch throughout the run of the exhibit.
