Public Notice COUNCIL PUBLIC MEETING

Wednesday, October 26, 2016 Concerning Proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments A PUBLIC MEETING is scheduled for Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 7:30 PM in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Offices, 225 East Beaver Creek Road, to notify the public and receive comments on the following applications that have been received by the Town. ITEM 1 INQUIRIES REFER TO TOWN FILES: D01-15004 & D02-15018 Derek Lau, Planner II 905-771-2479, [email protected] A request from TECHNOR DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED to amend the Official Plan and the Zoning By-law for lands described as Block 87, Registered Plan 65M-2533 and municipally known as 71 Regent Street. The subject lands are located on the south side of Regent Street and have a total lot area of approximately 0.78 hectares (1.92 acres). The purpose of the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications are to facilitate a residential development consisting of twenty-eight (28) townhouse dwellings with underground parking and an internal private access road on the subject lands. Lands Containing Seven (7) or More Residential Units: A copy of this notice must be posted by the owner of any land that contains seven (7) or more residential units in a location that is visible to all of the residents. Any person may attend the meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments. Written comments by any person unable to attend the meeting should be mailed/faxed/e-mailed to the Town Clerk, The Corporation of the Town of Richmond Hill to be received no later than 12:00 PM noon on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Please ensure that you include your name and address so that you may be contacted if necessary. Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments Appeal: If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Town Clerk, The Corporation of the Town of Richmond Hill before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted or refused and/or the Zoning By-law Amendment is passed or refused, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Richmond Hill to the Ontario Municipal Board and may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Municipal Board unless, in the opinion of the Board, there are reasonable grounds to do so. If you wish to be notified of the adoption or refusal of the proposed Official Plan Amendment and/or the passing or refusal of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written request to the Town Clerk, The Corporation of the Town of Richmond Hill, 225 East Beaver Creek Road, Richmond Hill, Ontario L4B 3P4 or by e-mail at [email protected]. Notice of Collection: Personal information is collected under the authority of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13 and may be contained in an appendix of a staff report, published in the meeting agenda, delegation list and/or the minutes of the public meeting and made part of the public record. The Town collects this information in order to make informed decisions on the relevant issues and to notify interested parties of Council’s decisions. It may also be used to serve notice of an Ontario Municipal Board hearing. Names and addresses contained in submitted letters and other information will be available to the public, unless the individual expressly requests the Town to remove their personal information. FLAG RAISING FOR NATIONAL DAY OF THE PEOPLE’S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

Join Mayor and Council of the Town of Richmond Hill, The Federation of Chinese Canadians in York Region and Consul General Mr. Xue Bing, for a flag raising ceremony in honour of National Day of the People’s Republic of China! Dates: Sunday, October 2 Time: 10 a.m. Place: Town’s Municipal Offices, at 225 East Beaver Creek Road *at the front foyer A reception will be held before the flag raising ceremony inside the lobby of the Municipal Offices to celebrate National Day. The flag of the People’s Republic of China will fly for the remainder of the weekend outside the Town’s Municipal Offices in honour of the holiday.

ROAD WATCH COMMITTEE

Richmond Hill is accepting applications to fill citizen and business representative vacancies on the Road Watch Committee. Join this dedicated group of volunteers to help make the community’s roads safer by promoting awareness, increasing education and aiding in the enforcement of road safety. Road Watch Committee The Road Watch Committee’s mandate is to work as a community-based Committee of appointed citizens and business representatives, with the assistance of the York Regional Police and staff from the Environmental & Infrastructure Services Department, to undertake various initiatives to help make Richmond Hill a safer place to work and live in respect of public highways and similar roadways. As a Road Watch Committee member, you will be required to attend a Committee meeting once a month during evening hours and to volunteer to support Road Watch at various community events. To be eligible you must be a Richmond Hill resident and/or a property owner, a Canadian citizen, 18 years of age or older, and not employed by the Municipality or local board. Application forms are available through Richmond Hill’s Office of the Clerk and on the website, RichmondHill.ca. The application deadline is Friday, October 14, 2016.
