PUBLIC NOTICE Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Project Information October 26, 2016
Dear Valued City of Dover Customers, The City of Dover is rehabilitating the existing sanitary sewer main in North State Street between Cecil Street and Mary Street. This rehabilitation is scheduled to start on November 1, 2016 and is scheduled to conclude on or around November 23, 2016. The normal work will be performed between 7:00am and 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Some night time hours will be required between 8:00pm to 6:00am in order to expedite the project and reduce the length of time for the closure. The purpose of this project is to remove and abandon failing sanitary sewer pipe and rehabilitate portions that will be kept in service. This project will increase reliability and improve operational efficiency for the sanitary sewer system for City of Dover employees and their customers, as well as decrease the likelihood of road failures. The street affected by this upgrade is North State Street from House #201 to #241 (see attached site map). Due to the need for heavy equipment use and the scope of work during the construction period, this street will have full closure to vehicle traffic. Access to properties will be maintained to vehicular traffic to the best of our abilities. Trash/Recycling will be collected on their normal collection days. This project will entail removing and abandoning existing sanitary sewer pipe, installing new services to properties which are affected, and setting up temporary pumps during re-lining of the remaining sanitary sewer pipe, to allow sewage to bypass this section of pipe. The contractor for this project will be Eastern States Construction Service, Inc. Contact names and numbers are available below.
