1. Rationale for how components were chosen and weighed: Our focus here at Queens Vocational & Technical High school is to ensure that students graduate college and career ready by achieving their CTE diploma. Our CTE courses are set up to mimic the workplace, therefore good attendance and punctuality are deemed top priority. Secondly, we review the applicants’ last report card in order to gain a clearer picture of the students’ academic abilities by assessing their daily courses and grades. Lastly, the ELA and Math CCLS State scores are reviewed.
2. Policy on how to account for missing information: Our Guidance Counselor will reach out to the office of Enrollment or student’s previous middle school. Many of our interested applicants attend our Open House and discuss these issues with the articulation Counselor and administrators on site. We highly recommend on our school website that interested applicants and families attend our Open House.
3. Format, purpose and scoring criteria for Internal Assessments: (Additional rubrics may need to be submitted) N/A Only our Q68B program conducts an internal assessment, the audition.( See attached Rubric for Graphic Arts)
