Quarter 3 March 2018
NESA testing is coming up next quarter. We have prepared some ideas for good test taking strategies. Most students here at CMS do not study for these tests, but studying is always acceptable. Keeping yourself hydrated is something to keep in mind. Make sure you get enough sleep, you can’t run on little to no sleep. Read through every question at least once or twice. Don’t stress over the tests, the NESA isn’t graded but you still need to try your hardest to get a good grade on it. Once you are done with all of the questions, read over all of the questions again and see if there are any questions where you need to change the answer on. You have plenty of time to complete these tests so don’t rush through the questions because we can guarantee you that the grade of the test won’t be good. If you don’t know the answer to the question, try to answer it reasonably. Eliminate the answers you know are wrong until you get to an answer that could be right. Don’t become distracted by classmates or other commotion going on around you. This section is brought to you by Isabella Klein, Addison Svajgr, and Reagan Armagost

3 History Day History day is a nationwide competition held every year. Also held at the state level that gives students the opportunity to present and research projects based on the interest and the theme of the current. This year's theme is Conflict and Compromise. There are 16 students who decided to participate this year. A majority of the students who are participating are girls. Two of the most popular ones to do are either a documentary or an exhibit. During History Day, it's not all about history. Out of experience, Mr. Frauen’s favorite part about History Day is the lunch. “EVERYONE SHOULD DO IT” -Mr Frauen 2K18 This section was brought to you by Aubree Eldridge SCIENCE FAIR

The Jungle Book Kids! Play production was a choice for one of the activity classes for the sessions in second and third quarter. We started practicing at the beginning of January, and we worked very hard until production time. When it was time to perform Disney Jungle Book Kids, we were very excited. We had a fun time performing to the elementary school, middle school, and for the public. Some characters were the monkeys, coils, bees, the jungle, vultures, elephants, wolves, and other characters. Our lead characters were: Brock Lee, Mowgli
Kelseigh Romero, Shanti
Zion Emerson, Bagheera
Damion Fochtman, Shere Khan
Graci Marhenke, Baloo
Katie Wilson, Kaa
Samuel Hermosillo, King Louie
Shaundra Wiederholt, Colonel Hathi
The directors were Mrs. Kostrunek and Mrs. Blackmore. Aaliyah Wilkins was the choreographer. The crew was a lot of help with props and make-up. We danced, sang, and laughed. It was so much fun. I hope you enjoyed it because the people that put it on certainly did.
