Rain, Rain Go Away Well, Mother Nature is not really cooperating with us this season. Unfortunately all this rain has caused the fields to be soggy and unplayable on many Saturdays. However, we, like you want those games to be played, so games will occur during your normal practice times on the week of May 10th and 17th. The U3/U4 players will play their games on Thursday nights (May 12th & 19th) from 5:00-6:00pm. We will also hold a rain date game on June 4th to make up Game 1, however all trophies will be given out on May 21st in case families cannot attend the later date. Additionally, to ensure we won't be rained out this Saturday, we are moving all the games to Evergreen Sportsplex (turf) starting at 11am on Field 4. The new game times will be: 11:00 AM: U7/U8 Boys and Girls, U5/U6 Girls, U3/U4 Boys & Girls 12:00 PM: U5/U6 Boys, U9/U10 Boys & Girls Evergreen Sportsplex is located at 19623 Evergreen Mills Rd, Leesburg, VA 20175. The Field Layout is located on our website or click here. Evergreen Sportsplex is located just south of Heritage HS on Evergreen Mills Rd. Look for the large Red Barn-like structure as an indicator of where to turn. Evergreen Sportsplex shares a parking lot with Evergreen Church.

Travel Tryouts If your child is born in 2008 or later, they can try out for Travel Soccer. Our Travel Soccer program is run through FC Virginia and to Try-Out, they must register on the FC Virginia website. To see schedule and sign up for Try-Outs, please click here. Try-Outs begin for our youngest age groups on Friday, May 6th. FCV has some of the top travel teams in the country and their academy system feed into the ECNL program at age U13.
Age Group Changes As some of you might know, US Youth Soccer has mandated that soccer age groups move away from the school year calendar and use the birth year calendar to create their teams. The previous age groups were calculated based on your age from Aug 1 - July 31, however the new age groups will be based on the year you were born. However, this only applies to those who play outside of our FCV Ashburn Recreational league. Within our Rec program, we have decided to maintain a school calendar system so that your children can continue to play with their classmates as they have in the past. You may elect to move to an older age group, but can still play with children in your grade if you desire. However, those that play pre-travel or travel soccer will have to adhere the the US Youth Soccer guidelines so birth year requirements will be in place for them. This means that some children with Fall birthdays were playing U7 are now eligible to play travel at the U9 age group with a 2008 birth year. Weather We are very lucky at FCV to play on such beautiful Bermuda grass fields at Bles Park. However,
because of this, we may have to close fields when some other fields are open. We cannot play on these fields when they are soggy because it will ruin the fields. You should always check our website's Field Status page before heading to Bles Park. If the soccer club or the county closes the field we will always update the website as well as send out notices on RainedOut.com, so please sign up for that service here to get up to day texts and emails. We will update you as soon as the county decides to close the field.
