meeting are not tolerated and are grounds for suspension. After the first All-Star manager for the gold has selected the final players that night, the next highest ranking twelve players will be invited to play on the second All-Star team (if applicable). Gold Team Selection: The Gold All Star team will consist of the top ten (10) players chosen by the vote tally. The Gold All-Star manager will then select two other players from the next 6 ranked players in the All-Star pool. This gives the manager an opportunity to balance the skills needed to fill holes or make the first team stronger, or to work with selected staff within the eligible All-Star pool. Consideration to the number of pitchers needed for the first team is suggested and opportunities for player input regarding pitching opportunities are encouraged. Silver Team Selection: The Silver team will consist of the next twelve rated players that are available to be selected. A situation may occur where a player elects not to play on the first All-Star team. In the event that one or more of the original ten players does not elect to play, the next player with the most votes is added to the team in order. The final All-Star team selections must be approved by the All Star committee before announcement. The Board of Directors will determine the announcement method. Per ASA restrictions, the Gold and Silver All Star teams cannot be announced before May 1 and also will not commence activity before the end of the first week of May per the published league schedule, to reduce the conflict with regular season play. After the teams are approved by the All Star committee, all parents of the players selected to the first team will be called. Any movement of players will only be made by the aforementioned Board committee if there is substantial parental concern regarding playing on the first team. The second team will not be notified or contacted until the first team has been confirmed.
SECTION 4 – TEAM MAINTENANCE When the gold or silver teams have been formed, once practice begins, a player may be called up from the second team to the first team only if the first team falls below 12 players on the roster, or for compelling circumstances, such as only one healthy pitcher. This is only with pre-approval by the board committee, and upon permission of the parents and player involved.
2.
If a silver team falls below 12 players the silver all star manager can select a replacement player(s) from the next five rated players from the original all star draft that were not selected.
3.
All Star practices will be limited to a maximum of 4 times per week, and a maximum of 3 hours per practice.
4.
The “Select All Star” team will be eligible to begin practice or playing immediately after their selection.
