To lose someone I loved so much brings pain beyond belief. There are no words to ease my pain, my sadness and my grief. I feel I’ve lost someone so close, so wonderful and dear. I think about your special ways and wish that you were near. But although you have left this world, you’ll stay within my heart. Guiding like an angel even though we are apart. For love is everlasting and so are my memories. Your legacy that’s always there to light the way for me.

God in His infinite wisdom looked down on earth and decided that He needed another rose from His garden. He then decided that Deaconess Reba McPhaul was ready and on Monday, February 25, He called her from her labor to reward. Reba was born on Raeford, NC to the late James and Ora Lee McPhaul Morrison on December 21, 1960. Reba accepted Christ at an early age and joined Beauty Spot MBC. Later in life, she joined Hope New Zion Church where she was ordained Deaconess in 2009. Reba was a loving and kind soul. She fought as a warrior with class and a smile. She was never known for complaining. She kept her faith and a smile on her face through everything that she went through. Reba graduated from Hoke County High School in 1979. She was employed with Liberty Home Care and Hospice for over 20 years. Reba had a passion for caring for people and that was her gift to the world. Reba was very well loved by the people who knew her and left to cherish her precious memories are her children: one son, Terrance (Sharon) McPhaul of San Desky, OH; two daughters, Renata McPhaul of LA, CA and Tonya (Jacob) Douglas of Clinton, MD; her very special friend, John Monroe of Raeford, NC; three sisters, Bessie Farmer, Tona (Lonnie) Galloway and Eva Gillespie all of Raeford, NC; five grandchildren, Jailah McPhaul, Zilik Bainer, Brionna McPhaul,

Egypt McPhaul-Mansour, Nzinga Douglas; two aunts, Veolia Shelly of Hope Mills, NC and Alberta McLean of Raeford, NC; one uncle, Horace McLean of Raeford, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Reba was preceded in death by one sister, Gracie Ray. Mom, you exemplified what it means to be a mother. You always loved and sacrificed for us. Thank you for always being there, thank you for cheering me on, thank you for endless love, support and care. You fought to the end so bravely and honorably. We will always keep your love in our hearts. We have so many memories that will live with us for a lifetime. Mom, you embodied a gentle kindness, always wearing the sweetest smile that we will miss. We love you always and forever MOM.
