Region 85 College Scholarship Program AYSO Region 85 awards up to four, $500 scholarships to qualified applicants.
Minimum Applicant Qualifications Must be a graduating High School Senior Must have volunteered as a Region 85 youth referee, been an assistant to an adult coach, or served in another volunteer position for a minimum of one full regular season Must be an applicant to a community college, a four-year college, or trade school Must have a 2.50 minimum GPA Additional community/volunteer service (not mandatory, but may be viewed when selecting applicants) Go to our website www.ayso85.org after February 1 to download the complete application packet. AYSO Region 85 College Scholarship Program Purpose Each season, when approved by our board of Directors, AYSO Region 85 awards college scholarships (normally $500) to each of up to four high school seniors who have given back to the region as volunteers. Criteria
A high school senior Must have volunteered as an AYSO coach, referee or other position for a minimum of one full regular season Have applied to a community college, a four-year college, or a trade school Have a 2.50 minimum GPA Additional community/volunteer service (not mandatory, but may be viewed when selecting recipients)
Application Process 1. Fill out the application 2. Provide one academic reference letter 3. Provide one reference letter from an AYSO Region 85 adult volunteer in a supervisory position. 4. Write a 200-300 word essay and attach it to application. Essay prompt is on application form. 5. Provide a copy of your most recent report card. Selection Process: The Scholarship Committee will review all applications. All applicants will be considered and judged without regard to race, creed, sex, religion, national origin, or financial need. Application Deadline: Applications must be received by April 15.
