The Passing Camp will cover training in order to be successful in passing, serve receive, defense and reading a hitter. Athletes will learn proper technique to defend any attack and any serve.
GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION All camps will be held at the University of Charleston in the new H. Bernard Werhle Sr. Athletic Arena located in the new Russell & Martha Werhle Innovation Center. Court shoes and kneepads must be worn during camp. Park anywhere available on campus. Check-In will begin the first day of camp, one hour prior to the camp start. The full amount of registration fee must be paid in full at the start of camp. There is a $50 cancellation fee if you provide at least two weeks notice prior to the start of camps. Failure to provide notice of cancellation prior to the start of camp will result in forfeit of your refund. Campers are required to be covered by their parent’s medical insurance, which will be used if medical care is required.

The hitting camp will cover individual skill training in hitting from the outside pin, rightside pin, middle, and backrow. We will cover approaching, armswing, wrist snap, and ball placement.

The High School All Skills Camp is designed to enhance player’s skill mechanics and overall game concept knowledge. Using correct technique will be highly emphasized. Passing, setting, serve receive, defense, hitting, blocking, and serving will all be covered.

Coach Jenna Brown is entering her fourth year as the University of Charleston’s Head Women’s Volleyball Coach. At the helm in 2016, Coach Brown helped lead the Lady Golden Eagles to a 25-13 record and a second place finish in the Mountain East Conference; a personal best since becoming the head coach in 2014. Coach Brown hopes to lead the program to a Mountain East Conference Title. The Golden Eagles have not won a Conference Title since being a part of the WVIAC, West Virginia Intercollegiate Athlete Conference in 2007 when Coach Brown was a member of the team. Coach Brown also intends to lead the Lady Golden Eagles Women’s volleyball team to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2007.

2017 VOLLEYBALL CAMPS CHLOE MASSARO SETTER NAPLES, FL
In Coach Brown’s first season as Head Coach at Charleston, she led the team to a 9-18 overall finish and 8-8 MEC record. Coach Brown quickly turned around the team in her second season, finishing with an overall record of 20-11 and 13-3 in MEC conference play. The Golden Eagles lost in the MEC Semi-Finals to Fairmont State University in the 2015 season. Brown has twelve years of coaching experience with various organizations at the club level, including the three years as head coach of 15’s, 16’s, 17’s & 18’s at the Elite Volleyball Training Center in Columbus, Ohio and three years with Club Fusion out of Northern Illinois. In 2013 Coach Brown’s 17 National team won the Big South American Division. Brown’s collegiate playing experience was here at the University of Charleston from 2005-2008. During her playing days under now UC Director of Athletics Dr. Bren Stevens, the Golden Eagles won three WVIAC women’s volleyball titles and made two NCAA Tournament appearances. She graduated from the University of Charleston in 2009 with degrees in Interior Design and Fine Arts.

Brown originally hails from northern Illinois, but now resides in South Charleston with her husband, Derek, who serves in the Illinois National Guard, and dogs, Daisy and Dooley.
