Replenish: 41 Days of Personal Reflection and Renewal
I was introduced to the book Replenish by a friend as we discussed our lives and ministries over lunch. He shared how the book had helped him see life through the analogy of two-stages: the front stage (public life) and backstage (private life). His description intrigued me and I immediately bought the book and began reading.
As I read, the truths presented by the author, Lance Witt, spoke directly to me as a person as well as a pastor. I became convinced that the subjects addressed are subjects we all must deal with in our spiritual journey. Although the book was written for spiritual leaders (pastors/leaders), I feel the issue of soul health is a subject for everyone. The more I learned, the more convinced I became that Replenish needed to be a part of our SummerSHIFT14 agenda.
As you make your way through the book, I encourage you to do more than just read. I encourage you to spend time in processing and reviewing the truths that are presented. The principles in the book need to be applied to our lives so that our souls are renewed and refreshed. It is my hope that this guide will help you focus as you process the Replenish truths.

Some Suggestions for Getting the Most from the Replenish Study 1. Prayerfully approach the study with a genuine interest in addressing your soul issues. 2. Apply the truths (principles) presented to your personal life. The issues addressed in Replenish are common to everyone, not just pastors/leaders. 3. Ask God to use this study to refocus your life as you seek to become more like Jesus.
The Plan The study plan is simple. Participants are encouraged to read one (short chapters!) per day for 41 days. The group will be studying the same chapters each week. At the close of that week, the message content in our Sunday worship will address subjects/themes that have been addressed in the material read during the week. In this format, important subjects are refreshed and reinforced in the minds of the readers.
The TSA Study Method The material in each is processed through three simple and easy steps. We are calling it the TSA Method: Themes/truths – Summary – Application. ● Themes and Truths: After reading the chapter, list the major themes or truths that most resonated with you and helped you get a grasp of the message of the chapter. The listing will include one word or short phrases. ● Summary: In the second step, use the themes/truths to write a short (one paragraph) summary of the chapter. ● Application: The application section allows the reader to record specific decisions and intentional actions to live out the truths in the chapter.
