CELL PHONE POLICY: School Year 2016-2017 Students will not use cellular phones during the school day except during lunch, unless under direct instruction and supervision from a teacher, for classroom purposes. In these cases, the student may only use the phone for the specified purposes. Any student abusing classroom privileges will have his or her phone taken and held in the office for a $15.00 fine. The same policy applies for headphone and earbuds, and other electronic devices. Should a student have a Kindle or another electronic device she or he would like to bring to class, that student may develop a contract with each of his or her teachers. Using such devices in class is subject to teacher approval. An administrator may also allow exceptions to cell phone policy on a case-by-case basis. However, other than these exceptions, if a student uses a cell phone anywhere on campus-other than at lunch without written or other authoritative proof of permission, the phone will be taken and held at the office for a $15.00 fine. The phone will be held there until the fine is paid. Additionally, when a substitute is teaching a class, students may NEVER use their cell phones, or have them out, in class. Cellular phones are, unless used for educational or emergency purposes, considered an unnecessary distraction. I, , have read and understand the Mullin ISO Cell Phone and Electronic Device Policy.
