Getting Started • Read Colossians 3:23-24 • God promises to reward faithful managers. • Have you ever received a reward? What was it for?
Grow 1. Discuss anything that stood out to you from the sermon. 2. What is the difference between a reward and a prize? 3. As we work towards obedience and accountability with all the resources that God has blessed us with, should we expect to be rewarded through these efforts? 4. Read Colossians 3:23 – 24. What is the inheritance and the reward that is referenced in this verse? Based on this verse, what are we accountable for? 5. Read 1 Timothy 6: 6 – 16. How does this concept from the sermon play out in these verses? ‘The Bible does not tell us how to get rich, rather the Bible tells us how to BE rich.’ 6. Can you think of other passages of scripture that convey a similar message of contentment 7. Is contentment more similar to being a prize or a reward? Why? 8. This is an appropriate week (Thanksgiving) to be reflecting on contentment. What are you thankful for? Does your disposition and speech reflect how much you have to be thankful for?
P.R.A.Y. “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the lord of Heaven’s Armies. “Then all nations will call you blessed, for your land will be such a delight.”. Malachi 3:10 - 12
