BOLLARDS

Bollards are perfect solution for organizing limited access or pedestrian areas. Due to their good exterior (or, more exactly, laconic unostentatious design) bollards are very popular in cities around the world and don’t spoil the architectural ensembles.

The anti-ram bollards are serious, separately located obstacles on the way of perpetrators. Undoubtedly, they can be installed additionally to anti-rams, but alone they also provide essential protection from perpetrator’s vehicles.

Bollards can be mounted one by one or by groups. Control can be performed for each bollard individually or group of bollards. The important advantage of bollards – compared to other blockers – is the point that they don’t limit the pedestrian movement.

We offer bollards of various types: - Removable - Mechanical (or “manual”, or semiautomatic) parking and anti-ram - hydraulic automatic parking and anti-ram bollards

Removable bollards are the cheapest bollard type that can be removed by the need of freeing the driveway. This is a metal pipe with special fastening unit securely mounted (usually cemented) into the road surface or pavement. If it is needed, personnel can take off such bollards to organize free access in several seconds. For safety reasons, such bollard should be locked after its installation. We have removable bollards of two diameters and heights, but we can produce bollards of other sizes on request. Such bollards are not anti-ram and perform only fence function. Fastening unit can be mounted onto road or pavement, or with submerge (but even in such case it is not an anti-ram device). Removable TiSO bollards – are the best and most affordable solution to organize pedestrian zone or parking near shopping centers, malls, office building etc.

Semi-automatic bollards are the convenient and reliable solution for territory protection in case there’s no possibility to provide electricity for full-automatic bollards. Semi-automatic bollards have gas spring that can be locked in lower position and rise rapidly in case unlocked. Main advantage of these bollards is that there’s no need in electricity. They are full-autonomic, but require participation of the staff for opening the driveway. This bollard should be pushed down to lower position and locked. Mechanical bollards has simple operating principle: - To release it (move it up) you should just unlock special mechanism (lock) and bollard will rise up in operating position by itself (due to gas spring inside); - To put such bollard down, you should make a pressure vertically on it and lock it in lower position.

When choosing this type of bollards it is important to remember that the abovementioned advantages may appear as disadvantages in certain situations. For example, if it is necessary to consider whether there is a requirements of certain speed to get up / down (since unlike to hydraulic ones that can be controlled remotely, additionally to time it goes itself up / down, staff have also reach such bollard to unlock it manually).

BOLLARDS “TiSO” hydraulic bollards – are reliable devices, which are easy-to-use and provide maximum durability.

There are two types of hydraulic bollards in our product range: with build-in hydraulic station and with separately located hydraulic station in special box/ Bollards with build-in hydro-station – is an ideal solution, when quantity of devices is not very big, and also installation of external box is not an option. In this case hydro-station is installed inside underground box (which also serves as a permanent formwork). Obvious advantage of such scheme is simple installation procedure. Main disadvantage is difficulty of service works. Second “hydro-scheme” type - the location of the hydraulic actuator (oil pump) in a separate box (hydro-station), which is installed at some distance from the bollard. In its turn, only oil piston is installed in bollard, which is connected to the box by high-pressure hose. This scheme greatly simplifies the maintenance of hydraulic, as well as allows to simultaneously operate multiple bollards from one hydro-station (so it is less expensive to implement a comprehensive project to protect the perimeter).

“TiSO” company produces parking and anti-ram bollards. Differences and characteristics can be found in chart below. Key features of bollards installation: - arrangement of good drainage system is required (or connection to any other existing drainage system); - after arrangement of drainage, bollard’s body (box) is installed, which also serves as a permanent formwork and simultaneously the frame rigidity to perform the main functions of Ballard - retention of the attack; - bollard itself should be installed in box. Also connection of hydraulic hoses performed at this stage (in the scheme of separate hydro-station) as well as electro-cables; - finally protective cover should be assembled on the top of the bollard; - in parallel box of hydro-station should be installed, which don’t require excavation works (in the scheme of separate hydro-station) Technical specs: Installation type

TiSO Company produces wide range of devices for road blocking. We suggest automatic overlying blockers and anti-rams, along with the ones for integration into the road surface. The major feature of our products is very small thickness (from 10 to 27 cm). Due to this feature, all our blockers can be mounted right on the road surface. The construction of all the devices is unified, and in case of such mounting, only additional rampant is required. By this kind of mounting, all our devices perform two functions at once: 1. While “closed”, act as “sleeping policeman” (the device for forced speed lowing) 2. While “open”, entirely block the driveway. Transmission of all this equipment is hydraulic. Like bollards, one hydrostation can control several devices. It should be noted that in case of blocking devices, which corresponding to certain anti-ram classes, there is a need in the arrangement of «foundation» - reinforcement cages, onto which the device will be installed. Thus, underground concreted part becomes integral with the actuator and due to significantly increased area and weight provides proper protection class. Of course, in this option is still required to carry out excavation work at a considerable depth, but with full confidence it can be argued that the cost of such works and materials for reinforcement cages several times lower than devices requiring immersion of the executive part to a big depth. At the same time, it is important to remember that works to arrange reinforcement cages doesn’t requires special qualification and made of local materials (excluding the additional costs of transport) according to provided schemes, drawings, instructions and recommendations. Anti-ram road blockers designed to match the highest protection requirements and well applicable both public and private sectors. We produce anti-ram road blockers of following classes: K4 (or M30-P1 according to ASTM F2656-07) - certified; K8 (or M40-P1 according to ASTM F2656-07); K12 (or M50-P1 according to ASTM F2656-07) - certified. This type of road-blocking equipment of high operating intensity is well applicable to provide anti-terror protection. Anti-ram road blockers are designed as modules with of 2 m or 3 m widths. Thereby, customer has an option to get different combinations of modules which will fit project purposes. It should be noted, that hydraulic actuator is located in special box (hydrostation) and if there is security requirements of project, this box should be installed on protected territory. Installation of road-blockers contains phases of reinforcement cage arrangement and installation of road-blocking device. Both of these stages don’t require significant qualification and are executed according to attached schemes, drawings and instructions. Reinforcement cage and concrete works are made from local materials, that significantly reduces the cost of whole project realization. Connection scheme, possible distances from hydrostation(s) to anti-ram device(s), as well as speed of rising – are calculated by our engineers individually basing on project (or specification) from customer.

Narrow anti-ram “CYCLOP” is alternative solution to anti-ram bollards, which does not require significant below the ground submerging, in comparison to the last ones. This anti-ram solution provides similar reliability to standard wide anti-ram road blockers and takes less space at the same time. This type of a roadblocker can be installed separately, as well as in groups. If required, CYCLOP can be installed group can include opposite directed to each other two units (in purposes of two-directional vehicle access control implementation).

This type of a road-blocker designed in purposes of effective vehicle access control implementation. Various modifications as well two installation options: surface or submerge, makes this type of a road- blocker a definitive solution to match large part of tasks. In set included “protective curtain” provides safeness of a road blocker operating performance, as well secures equipment from harmful exteriors. With a surface mounting installation type, SPEEDBUMP provides both functions of a road-blocker, as well as a speed hump. In this case, to ensure secured vehicle pass of a SPEEDBUMP, equipment should be installed in set with entrance and exit ramps. These ramps are provided in two modifications: 1) “short” usually applied to driveways with intensive traffic of heavy vehicles (trucks, buses etc); 2) “long” designed for SPEEDBUMP passing of vehicles with little road clearance.

SPEEDBUMPS are mounted with the help of anchors / land ties. We recommend installation of road blocker in a set with barrier or traffic light with two –lights indication. In addition, roadblocker’s control box provides the possibility of induction loops operation support. Due to opportunity of “combined modules” principle implementation, road-blocker’s design provides an option to block driveways of significant width. Modules have widths of 2 m and 3 m and can be combined in different ways (2+2, 2+3+2, 3+3+3 etc). In this regard, SPEEDBUMP solution is well applicable to the widest range of vehicle access control project purposes.

Two types of tire-killers are produced by “TiSO”: automatic with hydraulic mechanism and semi-automatic with springs or with lever drive. Main difference between these types – possibility of free two-directional driveway organization. So, semiautomatic device is always in raised position and can be closed when vehicle tires will push them while driving on them (or by turning special lever). In its turn, hydraulic device can be closed in any time for unlimited period. Both types of tire-killers, as well as other blockers of “TiSO” can be mounted on road surface or with submerge. Our company offers tire-killers with various “knife” height: from 40 to 250 mm. Selection of knife-height is depending from checkpoint and transport type, which passes through it: for big trucks the best choice is high “blades”, and small “knives” are better for standard cars. It should be noted, that height-choice is important only for semi-automatic tire-killer. Thus, free pass through hydraulic (automatic) device is possible only if “knives” are in closed position. In this case, there is no possibility that “knives” will damage the car bottom.

Hydraulic tire-killers – are reliable and easy-to-use solution for territory protection. Hydraulic pump is been installed inside the device, so like it is in SpeedBump, just electronic control box should be installed outside. Various types of hydraulic tire-killers allows to choose exactly that option, which will ideally solve your project requirements: one or two protected sides, positioning relative to the axes. All types of this device can be installed on road surface (with ramps), as well as with submerge.

We offer two types of such devices: with springs or with lever drive. In first case – knives are always in raised position and pushed down by tires. In second – knives can be closed by rotating lever, or by joining (connecting) it with barrier. In this case, you get device which works synchronously with barrier. Models with installation on road surface or with submerge are available.

Control plates (Mechanical Blockers) This type of mechanical road-blockers is simple and reliable solution to the purposes of one-directional vehicle access control organizing. It’s operation principle is very simple, lifted up plate becomes an obstacle of the similar height as kerb. Control plates can be mounted in two ways: submerging and surface installation. This type of equipment operates well for private parking establishments and municipal driveways.
