Rochester Soccer Club 2015/2016 SOCCER SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCEDURES RSC has a limited amount of funds to offer individual scholarships for families needing help with RSC Lighting Club fees. Please complete the attached Scholarship Application and return it by June 9, 2015 so that we may determine the organization’s ability to assist you.
Player must have played soccer with RSC (Lightning, Recreation League or Development Program) previously to be eligible to apply. If awarded a scholarship, it will be contingent on your tryout and acceptance of a spot on an RSC Lightning Team for the 2015/2016 season.
Our scholarship committee will review all applications and make their recommendations for recipients for the 2015/2016 travel soccer season. Scholarships will be used to reduce the club payments throughout the year. Families will be responsible for remaining club payments and team payments.
Families that submitted applications by June 9, 2015 will be notified by e-mail on or before June 12, 2015 regarding 2015/2016 financial assistance. Afterwards, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis through the year with notifications given within 30 days.
Scholarship information will be kept confidential and in no way have any influence on the outcome of tryouts.
To help defray the cost of scholarships offered, parents of recipients will be required to volunteer during the 2015/2016 soccer year, as outlined below. Age Group U7-U14 U15-U18
Scholarship $500.00 $350.00
Volunteer Hours Required 20 15
Amount deducted from each RSC Club payment $100.00/5 payments $87.50/4 payments
RSC has the right to discontinue a scholarship and require repayment of monies applied to an account if volunteer hours are not being completed in a timely manner.
Families who have received an RSC Scholarship in the past that did not fulfill their volunteer hours are not eligible to receive a 2015/2016 scholarship.
